Reviews

  • Novice Motorhomers (often in search of good food) – Thanks to Patrick, Carrigaholt’s unofficial Ambassador & resident Postmaster, we were able to find the magnificent Green Acres Caravan & Camping Park – nearby (up to 6k qualifies as nearby in these parts), down an ‘unidentified Road’ in ‘Downtown Doonaha’. Thanks to Niall, the site owner, for recommending that we should dine in the Long Dock, in nearby Carrigaholt (see earlier definition of nearby, above). Lovely, friendly people, 5 * park, close (as in 100m) to the Shannon Estuary. As the night wore on, and the storm increased, either the Estuary seemed to get closer to us, or we seemed to get closer to the Estuary. If it’s great place in a storm, what must it be like when the weather is fine. A gem of a place. Date of stay: September 2020
  • Top Notch – We stayed here for one night but would have stayed longer only our plans were already in place. Niall is vey friendly and extremely informative about the area. We had a camper camper van pitch. its right on the sea and really peaceful.Amazing amount of different birds for any birdwatchers around .If your looking for somewhere to really chill this place is just perfect. The only downside was the toilet block which was in the middle of all the mobile home area. Quite a long walk when your in a hurry for the loo !
